The Department of Environmental Health (DEH) will begin its annual bulk waste collection exercise in the Eastern Districts on Saturday, 3 November 2018 and end in West Bay on 21 December 2018. The DEH bulk waste collection schedule for all three Cayman Islands is as follows:
|North Side, East End||3-9 November|
|Bodden Town District||10-23 November|
|George Town||24 November – 7 December|
|West Bay||8-21 December|
|Cayman Brac East||28-29 November|
|Cayman Brac West||5-6 December|
|Cayman Brac South||12 December|
|Little Cayman||17 & 19 (tentative) December|
Persons must place bulk waste on the kerbside before their district’s scheduled collection date. The bulk waste should be in an area that is easily accessible to DEH collection crews and does not obstruct the roadway. DEH will not collect any items that are put out after scheduled dates.
Bulk waste refers to large items such as old furniture, tyres and metal items that are not collected as part of the DEH’s weekly residential pick-up services. Metal waste must be separated from other bulk waste items. Metal waste includes old appliances, metal furniture and metal roofing.
Vegetative waste, as well as construction and demolition debris will not be collected during the bulk waste removal activity. Persons should make alternative arrangements to transport these items to the nearest landfill.
