On Saturday 23rd Sept. 2017 between 10am and 2pm the RCIPS will host an Open House Day at the Cayman Brac Police Station. This is in support of our current recruitment drive. The RCIPS is looking to recruit men and women between the ages of 18 and 40 years old to join their ranks. Applicants must be Caymanians or persons with Caymanian Status or Permanent Residency.

The National Roads Authority (NRA) advises motorists to take note of the temporary new road alignment changes on South Sound Road from the South Sound Boat Ramp to Bel Air Road/Slipper tree and to follow the new road lane markings. The new markings denote the road moving to the land side in order to accommodate the new boardwalk construction. (GIS)

The venue has been moved from the Cayman Brac District Administration conference room to the Aston Rutty Centre Medical Wing for the meeting, which is scheduled for 10 am, Thursday, 21September 2017. North Church Street has been blocked by the police between Mary Street and Bodden Road (both ways) due to sea action which has made the roadway dangerous for road users. The public is being warned to treat wave action in that area and elsewhere with caution. Any information in relation to other areas which are being affected be weather, wave action or storm surge and which could pose a danger to the public should be reported to 9494222. Further notification will follow as soon as conditions change.

Cayman Airways has been advised that Tampa International Airport (TPA) will now be closed on Monday, September 11, 2017. Therefore, Cayman Airways’ Tampa flights KX200 and KX201 on September 11, 2017 have been cancelled. Subsequently, Cayman Airways has added the following recovery flights on Tuesday September 12, 2017 for affected passengers: KX3200 will depart Grand Cayman at 11:45am and arrive in Tampa at 2:30pm. On the return, flight KX3201 will depart Tampa at 3:25pm and arrive on Grand Cayman at 4:10pm. Affected passengers are encouraged to call Cayman Airways Reservations on 345-949-2311 or 1-800-422-9626 to re-confirm their reservations.

The Cayman Islands Seafarers Association wishes to inform all members that there will be the September Social on Tuesday, 19 September, at 7:00 pm in the Seafarer’s Hall, 11 Victory Ave, Prospect. Buses will be provided from West Bay Town Hall at 6:00 pm. A bus route has been added in George Town, leaving the Public Library parking area at 7:00, stopping at Cayman Compass building and the Airport Fosters. The bus is marked Bobo $1 Public transport and is blue in colour, there is no charge.
