Christmas shoppers in search of local handmade goods are taking a close look at the arts and crafts items available from the Sunrise Adult Training Centre.  Clients at the centre work on crafts such as homemade glycerine soaps, hand painted coasters and Christmas wreaths. Counter Remains Open in December. The Trade and Business Licensing Board will resume its meetings on 13 January 2015, according to board Chairman Garth Arch. However, throughout December, staff in the Trade and Business Licensing Unit will continue to respond to questions, accept applications for grants and renewals, and collect all associated payments. The Trade and Business Licensing counter is located on the first floor of the Government Administration Building. DEH Annual Bulk Waste Clean-up for George Town

The Department of Environmental Health (DEH) is advising residents of George Town that bulk waste collections begins on Monday December 1st and ends Saturday December 6th.  Residents should separate metals and vegetative waste into individual piles for collection. Residents are reminded that bulk items should not be placed after collection date has passed. The Department of Environment Announces a Meeting to Discuss Procedures for those Interested in Establishing Coral Nurseries, on December 11th. The Cabinet of the Cayman Islands has approved a policy for managing coral nurseries in the Cayman Islands. (Policy available at http://www.DoE.ky.) The Department of Environment will be holding a meeting on Thursday December 11th at 2pm to provide information on establishing nurseries for Acropora corals and eventual outplanting on Cayman’s reefs.
