The National Drug Council (NDC) is preparing to conduct the 4th cycle of Her Majesty’s Prison Survey on September 7 to 11, 2015. The survey is conducted to determine drug and alcohol prevalence and to look at the extent and patterns of licit and illicit drug use among inmates in the Cayman Islands.
The information is used to determine the programme needs within the prison population as it relates to the delivery of education, treatment and rehabilitation services for those affected by substance abuse. “Surveys such as these contribute to a better understanding of both current and changing rates of substance use” said Luisa McLaughlin Research and Information Officer of the NDC.
Volunteers will be needed between 8:30 am to 11:30 and 1:30pm to 3:30pm during the week (September 7 – 11) to help administer the survey at the prison facilities (lunch will be provided). Please note that this does not require volunteers to attend all four (4) days. Additionally, volunteers will be required to attend a training session prior to the survey.
“We are grateful to our volunteers over the past four years both individuals and corporations. Without their dedication this invaluable data would not be available to inform stakeholders” stated Mrs. McLaughlin.
If you would like to support this initiative or have further queries please contact the NDC at 949-9000 or email: email@example.com
