Ministry of FSC&E Closure

The Ministry of Financial Services, Commerce and Environment, as well as the departments of Commerce and Investment; Financial Services Policy and Legislation; and International Tax Cooperation, will close at 1pm this Friday, 12 December, for a staff function. The Ministry and the three departments will reopen at 8:30am Monday, 15 December. The staff apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, and they wish everyone a safe and Merry Christmas.

TBL Board to Resume in January

Counter Remains Open in December. The Trade and Business Licensing Board will resume its meetings on 13 January 2015, according to board Chairman Garth Arch. However, throughout December, staff in the Trade and Business Licensing Unit will continue to respond to questions, accept applications for grants and renewals, and collect all associated payments. The Trade and Business Licensing counter is located on the first floor of the Government Administration Building. NWDA Visits Brac

Cayman Brac job-seekers, as well as employers wishing to be registered with the National Workforce Development Agency’s (NWDA) online portal, will have this opportunity next Wednesday and Thursday (December 10th and 11th, 2014). NWDA representatives will be seeing clients at the Department of Labour and Pensions’ office at 256 Creek Road, Cayman Brac, from 9:00a.m. to 4:30p.m. each day. To make an appointment call 945-3114 or 948-0626. Walk-ins will also be seen. Job-seekers will be assisted with the intake process.

DEH Annual Bulk Waste Clean-up for George Town

The Department of Environmental Health (DEH) is advising residents of George Town that bulk waste collections begins on Monday December 1st and ends Saturday December 6th.  Residents should separate metals and vegetative waste into individual piles for collection. Residents are reminded that bulk items should not be placed after collection date has passed. The Department of Environment Announces a Meeting to Discuss Procedures for those Interested in Establishing Coral Nurseries, on December 11th. The Cabinet of the Cayman Islands has approved a policy for managing coral nurseries in the Cayman Islands. (Policy available at http://www.DoE.ky.) The Department of Environment will be holding a meeting on Thursday December 11th at 2pm to provide information on establishing nurseries for Acropora corals and eventual outplanting on Cayman’s reefs. Help NRA to Clear Roadsides and Shoulders

CAL adds extra cargo flights for December
