The roads restricted last night due to the oil spill have now been reopened, police say. Last night police reported an oil spill on Sheddon Road in the vicinity of Funky Tangs, along Sound Way and to the Butterfield Roundabout near AL Thompson’s and access to these roads was temporarily limited.

Police say there has been an oil spill on Sheddon Road in the vicinity of Funky Tangs, along Sound Way and to the Butterfield Roundabout near AL Thompson’s. Police and fire are on scene and access to these roads are temporarily limited. NRA is en route to deal with the spill. Motorist are to avoid Shedden Road, Sound Way, New Sound Way (northbound) and the Butterfield Roundabout, or proceed with caution while the spill is being addressed. The RCIPS will inform the public when full access to the roads is available.

The National Roads Authority (NRA) along with its subcontractors will be carrying out road paving works on Shamrock Road from Midsummer Drive to near the Intersection of Prospect Point Road. The Proposed works will improve drainage and improve the deteriorated road surface.
